Expect to see turtles sleeping or gently swimming to the surface, schools of colorful fish weaving through the coral gardens, while your own body begins to flow with the sea — sometimes still, sometimes carried by soft drifting currents along the reefs. If you’re lucky you might spot reef sharks (harmless) and octopus or eels playing hide and seek.
- Courses for every level: Dive centers offer Fun Dives and Discovery Dives for beginners. This is a half-day experience where you learn basic safety, practice skills in a pool, and head out for your first dive before lunch.

Dive Shops on Gili Meno
Despite being the calmest of the three islands, Gili Meno still has a lovely little dive community, just enough to give you choice, but not enough to feel crowded. Currently, there are three dive centers: Divine Divers, Blue Marlin, and Gili Meno Dive Club. There used to be the fourth one, locally owned, but it hasn't been operating for a while now.
Each has its own character: Divine Divers with rooms and a restaurant on-site; Blue Marlin was the first dive centre on the island (since 2001); and then there’s Gili Meno Dive Club, the one I always find myself coming back to.
Meno Dive Club is located just steps from the harbour, and it feels more like a bamboo living room, making you feel instantly at home. It’s family-run, often with kids playing nearby, and the kind of place where everyone remembers your name.
How to Get Started
If you’re already on Lombok, getting to Gili Meno is easy:
1. Head to Bangsal Harbour, just north of Senggigi.
2. Hop on a local boat or fast ferry to Meno (a 15–25 minute ride).
3. Walk a few sandy meters from the harbour — and you’ll find Gili Meno Dive Club waiting, ready to help you dive into the blue.
Bring:
- Swimwear and sun protection
- A curious heart
- And maybe a free evening to watch the sun melt into the horizon
